Although he is the "Motor City Madman", you can't argue with his common sense outlook on life. It is a breath of fresh air to read someone with a viewpoint that actually makes a little bit of sense. Kudos to you Ted.
The Nuge is Huge December 20, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I dig The Nuge. Not for a liberal candy-a.... Nuge lays it on the line from the conservative side. You don't like that?? Don't buy this book. Steam will start to come out of your ears and your blood pressure will go way up.
Ted, White, and Blue the Manifesto of a TRUE American! December 18, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am very impressed by this book! Ted is for sure an extremest, but he knows it and admits it ... hey Liberals ... you better thank your God that Ted isn't our president hahahahaha!! This book, is in my top 5 of favorite books ~ a must read for ALL!!! Thanks Ted, and keep rockin' the F%%K on!
Profoundly all-American! December 13, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Ted Nugent is at his witty best in his new book. I even sent this American gem to my redneck brother in CO. A must read for all Americans---especially for those citizens who enjoy reminders of the solid, basic fundamentals and values that has made our country so great.
The Brutal, Unvarnished Truth of Ted Nugent December 6, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book has caused major warpage between my ears and no small amount of pain. I still don't know what to say about it except, "be careful." Let me explain...
We are talking about Ted Nugent here, the poster boy for In-Your-Face, outrageously loud, wild, uninhibited, energy beyond bounds guitar music. And ditto on stage antics. When he lets you inside his head and you find his whole world is like that..... well... it is a lot to comprehend. But, if you know his favorite subjects well (and I do) you quickly realize he is being absolutely upfront, honest and true. It takes a rare and special person to allow that sort of a vantage point and it is shocking to realize how well this unlettered guitar picker has most of life's largest challenges figured out.
While the title of "God, Guns and Rock and Roll," is perfectly suited, the book is really more about life and parenting. If you are a future rock star, this book could save your life. If you are a parent, this book could save your kids and maybe even your sanity.
My confusion comes from trying to decide if it should be required reading between middle school and junior high or once every school year from 9th grade up. If either of those came to pass, I'm sure the world would be a better place because Ted manages to get across the importance of values gone missing from our society over the past 50 years. I have long believed (way before Ted) America would stay in decline until a sense of morality, personal responsibility, accountability and work ethic became important once again.
This book isn't about God, guns and rock and roll. It is about life and how to live it better whether you believe in God or The Great Spirit and be the best you can be whether it is as a guitar picker picker or a pickle packer. Put away your pride and ego, read it and think about it, don't feel insulted or jump to conclusions. When you understand his meaning, you will be better equipped for the remainder of your life.
