Great Book! September 21, 2008 Great ideas and pics in this book. I am in the process of making three of the projects. THe instrucions are easy to follow and not to mention her material is terrific.
Can't go wrong with Amy Butler patterns September 11, 2008 I have Amy Butler's "In Stitches" pattern book, and have loved it! This book is very similar in layout, and I love the coil binding so it lays flat. Don't be overwhelmed...sometimes her patterns seem long, which in your mind equals complicated. But they are long because they are written so detailed which make them easy and fun to complete. I love the cute little patterns for baby (especially the kimono top and pjs) and the bags for mom. Another fabulous book from Amy Butler.
Another beautiful book September 9, 2008 This is another beautiful Amy Butler book! I love some of the projects in here and can't wait to make them for my baby and toddler:) But even if I never use it I still love looking at the photography. My only wish is that two of the projects had a picture of the whole finished piece. There are two that don't have that and I'd like to see what it is that I am going to make before I make it!
Amazing designs but not enough diagrams August 29, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
The designs were amazing and just made her fabrics even more gorgeous. Loved the bags and the baby clothes, but the sizes were only from birth to a year, so I can't make matching sets for my two daughters.
My main gripe was that the instructions were too wordy and there were too few diagrams. I made a pair of cutie booties as they looked easy and just what my 3month old needed right now. There was only a simple diagram at the end of the instructions, so I had to read and re-read everything at least 3 times before stitching so that i will not have to end up unpicking. A diagram could be more self explanatory and cut out the wordiness which is pretty intimidating. I'm still trying to decide which project to start on next since trying to figure out the instructions take quite a while.
This book is probably not for the novice sewer as it refers to sewing terms that are sometimes explained in the appendix but without diagrams as well.
best book ever August 28, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had a lot of expectations from this book and indeed ALL were met! Worth every cent!
