5 out of 5 stars A Real Expert's Recommendation   May 30, 2001

This book has been recommended by the late Douglas Adams (author of "Hitchhiker's Guide" and many other brilliant books) on his web page www.h2g2.com. He liked it, you will like it.

1 out of 5 stars Not a serious book; but OK for the PC crowd   June 17, 2000

I noticed many of the quotes were taken out of context, inaccurate, or were off-the-cuff comical/facetious remarks. Some of the "researched facts", are nothing more than partisan political opinions. It's a wonderful database kit for the left wing bumper-sticker intellectual. Of course, there's barely any quotes from the Clinton administration; but then again, Clinton's gaffs would require a 2 volume set alone! It is an interesting read, in that you get a sense of how the PC crowd shamelessly struggles to deconstruct history and facts. I'm sure Cerf and his staff giggled the whole time they were assembling the quotes for the educated derelict. Fortunately, most students of history are not that shallow-minded. Do some serious reading, and pass this silly tripe up. The title says it all: "Misinformation".

5 out of 5 stars Well researched book and worth the money!   July 12, 1999

I have read many articles and books on history's "experts" mistakes and this book is one of the best. Enjoy every page. Congratulations!

1 out of 5 stars lame   February 13, 1999

This book is a waste of time and money. The dates are wrong, the facts are wrong, the quotations have selected items omited in order to increase dramatic effect which distorts what was quoted in the first place. There has been much better "expert-speak" documented throughout history but it's not in this book. Why? Save your money and leave this one on the shelf.

5 out of 5 stars A humorous and very informative book!!   January 9, 1999

This wonderful book, taught me many historical facts that I didn't know. It's great to see people who are "experts" and therefore smarter than me, wrong so often!!!
