Don't Waste Your Time- January 8, 2008 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
The information is well known. I did not realize the book that the book was so basic. For Civil War buffs, the book is a waste of time. School kids might like it.
Christmas Present December 29, 2007 I can't give a complete review, as this was purchased as a Christmas present for a nephew who is a history buff. I leafed thru the book after receiving it, and I found it very interesting, the stories were well written and presented. We do know that our nephew was pleased when he looked at it. I'd give it a 4 out 5 just on our experiences.
Betcha' didn't know...! December 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I learned a lot of facts about The Civil War reading Burke's marvelous book, including the fact that Stonewall Jackson's beard had its own, unique microfauna.
Very fun, fast read. November 24, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is a great Civil War "reader". One of those types of books you put in the bathroom and read! Not to be gross or anything, but you get the idea. Don't buy it thinking it is some profound novel, it isn't. It is just a neat little book on different little interesting facts you may or may not know about the Civil War. Each one is about a paragraph or 2, but it is larger print and it reads fast. I think I read it cover to cover in about 2 days, it is that easy. But you'll learn some interesting things, and the author may introduce you to some things you may want to further explore.
Interesting, light reading March 28, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book is simply a collection of off-beat facts about the Civil War. It is not Great Literature, nor is it meant to be. For any History Buff or Odd-Fact Enthusiast, this is a fun read.
