 Realistic and plausible - whether you believe it or not!! December 14, 2008

Steyn's book presented a factual demographic side of this "war" that I didn't know existed. This is an extremely interesting book that includes plenty of examples of the spread of Islam and how Western cultures in their quest for political correctness and unoffensive rhetoric slowly but steadily make wild and ridiculous concessions for Muslims out of fear of being labeled racist or worse. The result is that entire countries are being "assimilated" into Islam without even knowing how they got there.
This book is a must read for anyone who wishes to pass on to their children the values and liberties that we've all lived with our entire lives. Any society that wishes to endure, must fight for that privilege. It is a historical fact that peaceful and passive societies do not last and if America doesn't develop the stomach and will to stand up for their corner of the Earth then it too will go the way of those passive societies of the past.

We will see America alone. At the writing of this review, we are riding on the coat tails of England, but soon that ride will be over when England launches the (all inclusive to the EU markets) EUROs in exchange for its Pounds; who knows where the ride ends after the EUROs will no longer be an acceptable form of payment for those who proclaim the DINARs should be a (GLOBAL) source of payment.
These are some of the exact issues in which our Judeo-Christian forefathers of the once great USA fought against.
Incredibly, today, we are seeing the collapse of a once-strong, super efficient kingdom fall flat on its face before the Persian/Arab nations and with a sword on her neck.
I highly recommend reading: "Hope of the Wicked; The Master Plan to Rule the World," by Ted Flynn. Much of the history of America and England is found in this book, which explains a lot of what we're seeing is in cahoots to forming a Global Communist Regime. The candidness (confession) of Senator Jones of Iowa, which can be found in YouTube.com, discussed a large amount of the master plan largely in effect (since the creation of the Federal Reserve and the League of Nations aka United Nations).
America is a kiss-butt-to-get-everyone's-commodities-but-their-own country!
We need to stop! We should be guarding our democratic borders (along with all who wishes to remain in a free world) against these land and sea pirates! And remain a TRUE democratic nation, not half-footed either!
Additionally, there were some grammatical and spelling errors found in this book. I was kind of hoping to cruise thru reading but had a hard time deciphering some contents. The prologue section, alone, had a few grammatical errors, such as on page xv, paragraph 2, second line beginning with the sentence: "1970 doesn't seem that long ..."
P.S. Adding tax to non-diet soft drinks is a sure bet that soon there will be a surcharge for obese people for walking the streets! Another sign of this regime ... Global Communist Regime!

Author Mark Steyn's "America Alone" provides a global construct in which the world is dependent on America for a future that honors human dignity and basic liberties. The rise in global Islamism represents a critical global threat. At issue is whether we have the will to get the job done. Other major powers do not. They have committed demographic suicide, created unsustainable welfare state models, and are too exhausted to be counted on.
Steyn says September 11, 2001, was not "the day everything changed," but the day that revealed how much had already changed. Islamic extremists are not fighting so that we can provide them with something. They are fighting to eliminate America and the West. We need to be shaken from our pre-occupation with elevating the secondary impulses (self-gratification) over the primary ones: national defense, self-reliance, family, and, most basic of all, reproductive activity.
Steyn offers a series of alternative responses to this global threat and rules all but "reforming Islam" unrealistic. His plan for reform places an emphasis on creating conditions which will increase the likelihood of Muslim reform including:
1.Supporting women's rights in the Muslim world.
2.Roll back ideological exports like Wahhabi, that radicalize Muslims.
3.Support economic and political liberty in the Muslim world.
4.End the Iranian Regime.
5.Strike militarily as needed.
"America Alone" will change the way you look at the world. Steyn argues we don't know who we are, we don't know the issues, and we still do not understand the nature of the enemy. We are the ones who are nuts. We have the better government, religion, and culture but our ideological insecurity is a weakness that becomes this particular enemy's strength. We must turn away from a culture that is suicidal. A suicide bomber is not a weak weapon against a culture intent on killing itself.
Truly Eye Opening November 5, 2008
America Alone is a cogent analysis of the culture clash between western civilization and Islam. Steyn's brilliant composition is both enlightening and powerful. Mark Steyn segments his writing with great wit and humor, which makes his observations and arguments all the more entertaining.

Mark Steyn opens your eyes to the truth with total disregard to political correctness. Thank God! He is a modern day Nostradamus. If Obama get in Tuesday, Mark's predictions will only be accelerated.
