Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Air Force pararescueman Bruce "Striker" Stanton spends his life rescuing pilots downed behind enemy lines, and Grace Yates flies an F/A-18 Hornet for the Navy. On their dangerous jobs away from home, they exchanged love letters. Now a fight between Syria and Turkey over water rights on the Euphrates has spiraled into a confrontation NATO finds itself struggling to prevent. For the military deployed in the region, it's not just the occasional news headline -- it's their daily problem. But when a missing Navy pilot turns out to be Gracie, Bruce has got one mission: get her out alive ...

5 out of 5 stars It is the best series ever   February 19, 2008
I own all of her books. The O'Malley series is good, I have the whole series. including this series I recommend it.

4 out of 5 stars Another Great One by Dee Henderson   December 31, 2007
Some reviews have complained that this book is too slow, particularly because much of the dialogue is through correspondance. I felt that added to the experience of the book. It is focused on two deployed military people so of course much of their dialogue is through letter or email. Henderson shows a pretty good grasp of understanding of the military and combat, good enough for this type of book. It is a sweet and engaging story and once again, she makes you fall in love with the characters and you feel as though you are a part of their world. It isi a clean book yet stays very romantic. Most of all, it makes you all the more grateful for the men and women who willingly serve our country.

5 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST!   April 23, 2007
I have come to love Dee Henderson's books. I read all four of the Uncommon Heroes and this one is second only to True Honor. The romance between Gracie and Stryker is heartwarming. The numerous letters between them add to rather than detract from the story. I've read the book twice and it was just as good the second time around. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading a good war time romance.

3 out of 5 stars Wait for the next one   August 8, 2006

This book may be what you were looking for, but it's not as good as "True Morality", where Lt. Joe Bates turns his machine gun on a crowd of American Marines who were preparing to attack a girls' school, after having beaten several of the teachers to death. Lt. Bates reasoned that if raping teenage girls was immoral in southern Alabama, it was also immoral in southern Iraq. Unfortunately, he wins no medals for this.

By far the worst Dee Henderson book I have read. I have always enjoyed her books - but this one just puts me to sleep!
