Amazon.com Review Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner is the essential primer from one of the best known authors on Wicca. Focusing on the importance of individualism in your spiritual path, Cunningham explains the very basics of Sabbats (holy days), ceremonies, altars, and other nuts and bolts of Wicca that a solitary practitioner may have trouble finding elsewhere. While Wicca shouldn't be your sole point of reference when considering Wicca as your way of life, it is one of the best starting points. --Brian Patterson
Product Description Cunningham's classic introduction to Wicca is about how to live life magically, spiritually, and wholly attuned with nature. It is a book of sense and common sense, not only about magick, but about religion and one of the most critical issues of today: how to achieve the much needed and wholesome relationship with our Earth. Cunningham presents Wicca as it is today: a gentle, Earth-oriented religion dedicated to the Goddess and God. Wicca also includes Scott Cunningham's own Book of Shadows and updated appendices of periodicals and occult suppliers.

Wicca in good hands January 6, 2009 Out of all the authors out there Mr Cunnigham is one of the few that a cherish. He wrotes very well and with the understanding that while he has been doing this for ages you have not.
I really recommend this book for Solitary pagans who are needing some real guidance.
Highly recommended December 29, 2008 Hightly recommended for beginning solitary students or those who want to know what Wicca is all about.Scott Cunningham was a wonderful author who explains the religion of Wicca in a way that we all can easily understand.
Best of the range December 23, 2008 An Ecclectic/Solitary practitioner must read this book. The author encourages to modify the book for personalized use. This book is aimed towards solitary practitioners. And it can be easily modified for the practice of a couple, and that is the most wonderful thing about this book.
This book helped me to understand many basic principles of Wicca. You may also need a good highlighter pen to use with this book. It is very practical. I keep this book with my BOS inside the circle!
Excellent introduction to the world of Wicca December 1, 2008 If you are totally new to Wicca, or even more general nature based Paganism, this is a really good place to start expanding your knowledge. I knew a good amount about Paganism and especially Druidism before I read this book, but once I became interested in Wicca and read this book, it gave me a good idea of what Wicca was all about. It's really a beginners book and therefore doesn't go into much detail. But it certainly gives you a good all-around idea of the philosophy and spiritual aspect of Wicca, as well as rituals, recipes, seasonal festivals, tools and symbols, the dualism of a God and Goddess and many more basic Wicca concepts. As the title says, it's more targeted to solitary practitioners. So if you can't find a coven, or simply prefer to have your own individualized religion, this is a great source in how to do so. This is more the path of an eclectic Wiccan, but even if you merely have interest in knowing more about Wicca as a religion, rather than making it your own, it's a good stepping stone to it's introduction. Maybe not the best source for researching the history of Wicca, because it is New Age and highly personalized. I would strongly recommend this book if you want a glimpse into the Wiccan world.
Good for Pagan Beginners November 9, 2008 This is a good book for those who are beginning to introduce themselves to the world of formal paganism. I am not Wiccan so I can't say how it measures up to the religion but there is a lot of good information for those who don't know what path they will take but at least want to try something. It's not condescending in tone rather it's warm and inviting, with undertones of understanding. It also is not 'baby talk' so the reader can feel mature enough to take the information seriously and perhaps not so strange performing some of the rituals inside. I like it.
