Q: What inspired you to write the book and how did you come to the title?
A: I founded the women’s ministry here at Lakewood Church which now has several hundred women. It was through conversations with these women about the issues that were important to them where I discovered we all share many of the same concerns and issues. I wrote the book in order to address those issues. The title, Love Your Life just came to me one day.
Q: What motivates you in your work on a daily basis?
A: I see how God is using this ministry to touch people all over the world. We get thousands of letters and emails from people whose lives have been changed, who have found hope in the midst of adversity, and who are inspired to keep rising higher in their everyday life.
Q: You have inspired so many people with your message. Who has inspired you the most?
A: My parents and my husband have been my greatest inspiration. I have always been blessed in this way. My parents not only instilled faith in me but they taught me the importance of family as well. Joel inspires me on a daily basis. He lives such a life of mercy, compassion and integrity.
Q: How do you think life has changed for your children vs. how things were for you when you grew up?
A: Actually, things are not that different. My family was very close to one another just as we are today. Perhaps, the biggest difference might be that my kids live near all of their cousins, aunts and uncles while I grew up several hundred miles from mine. My kids are able to interact with their extended family on a daily basis and I think that is great. Growing up, I would have liked to see my cousins as much as my kids get to see theirs.
Q: Does your full schedule allow you some quality time by yourself? What is your favorite way to relax?
A: I enjoy exercising and reading. But my favorite way to relax is to just hang out with Joel and the kids. We laugh and have great fun together.

HATE YOUR LIFE -AND LIVE! December 4, 2008 Whoever LOVES HIS LIFE loses it, and whoever HATES HIS LIFE in this world will keep it for eternal life. JOHN 12:25
What did Jesus mean by "hate your life"? You wont find the answer in Ms. Osteens new book. And regardless of how many people endorse her new book with positive reviews, Jesus doesn't.
Jesus never called his disciples to "love their life". Jesus knew that sinners do that already, and to their destruction. Jesus didn't walk around selling "seven steps to love your life". Instead He was a living walking picture of how to NOT love your life. He lived to Die so that we could die and LIVE!!
To share in his life we must also share in his death! "Take up your cross and follow me or you cannot be my disciple."
Jesus was popular for his miracles but rejected for his message! People like miracles. After all, they help them love their life! People lined up for that in large crowds! But they soon yelled "Crucify Him".
When Jesus gave them food to eat they followed him. But when he told them to eat his flesh and blood in order to have eternal life, they fled. John 6:53-66 Joel and Victoria may draw large crowds. People may buy and digest their books with delight. But you must look at yourself and ask "Has how I see living the Christian life been shaped more by Jesus or Joel?" " Have I truly sought out the words of Jesus and obeyed his commands or have I delighted myself in a message of another?"
The path with Jesus isn't popular. But it is good! And you will find Joel to be a blind guide indeed when you step onto the road with Jesus. But Jesus is there! He will be your guide! His words will be the lamp unto your feet.
Luke 14:26 "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.

It has been said that a pointless life is worse than an early death. Victoria inspires women everywhere to step out and live a life that honors God.
Love, Hope and Encouragement for Life November 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Love your Life is a book writen in love, hope and compassion. It appears to me that Victoria wrote this book with the intent to help people improve their lives. The book feels like she is talking to you openly and trying to help you with life's challenges.
Victoria is an encourager and she discusses the importance of encouraging ourselves and others. She also encourages her readers to celebrate their successes big and small and celebrate other peoples successes with them.
Some readers may learn a different way of looking at things. Everyone has unfair things that happen to them in their lives, and some people have more than others. The question is how can we deal with these bad things that happen and overcome them and live life fully and whole? Afterall, the challenges of today bring the opportunities of tomorrow.
This book could be especially good for people (male or female) who feel inside themselves that they have to be perfect to be loved, or that they are unloveable or unworthy no matter what they do. We are each God's perfect creation and he loves us. God knows we are not perfect and he loves us despite our faults and our nature to sin. We are called to love our neighbor as ourself, but, if we do not love ourself than how much could we possibly love our neighbor? We must love ourselves before we can truly love others. Victoria guides the reader on a path of understanding that each person is important and has value.
Victoria attempts to bring each reader to a place of God's love, hope, healing, freedom and peace in their lives. Victoria's advice is sound bibical advice and I believe that Christians and non Christians could bennefit from this book depending on the persons openness.
At the end of each chapter she lists her main points as a quick referance e.g.; "I will focus on what I have and not what I don't have. I will dwell on what's right in my life and magnify the good."
Depending on where you are in your life you may want to also look at the following books which are writen by different authors, and varying writing styles, but, address God's love for his people: Joyce Meyer's Battlefield of the Mind, William P. Young's The Shack and Francine Rivers Redeeming Love (novel). Happy reading.
By loving your life, you make others happy, too! November 10, 2008 I would like to thank Victoria for sharing her thoughtful insight and wisdom in this book. I appreciated the personal, inspirational stories that were shared. I was able to make personal connections through her shared stories. These connections helped me to gain insight and resolution to daily battles that I (along with others) struggle with in my journey through life. Her words are simple, yet they contain so much depth. There are everyday lessons to be learned in this book which can truly enrich your life as they did mine. I believe it is so important to Love Your Life and Live Happy, Healthy and Whole. As Dennis Prager writes, happiness is not a selfish concern...it is a moral obligation.

The Olsteen's are smart folks, they are helping to bring UNITY of the World System to the Religious System, the methods they use through media is the same methods Jim Jones used and those like Rick Warren use, it's simple, you give the people what THEY WANT, then the people FOLLOW THE LEADER. They are SECULARIZING THE AMERICAN CHURCH.
